Wonders of the Universe: Stardust - Video Dailymotion
The most interesting science that I learned in this video was that everything on our Earth right now was created seconds after the Big Bang. How is that possible? Stardust. Stardust created all of us. A billionth of a second after the Big Bang occurred, subatomic particles (quarks and electrons) gained mass. As the unidentified cloud that was the early universe, started to cool down, the quarks and electrons started to gain mass and created nuetrons and protons. Hydrogen was then formed because hydrogen is the simplest element to create, due to the fact that it only has one proton. Hydrogen can make all of the other elements, just by adding more and more protons and neutrons. This really interests me and in an odd way I feel more significant for knowing that I was created from a star. It makes me feel more significant, because I know that something (a star) had to die for us, as humans, to be created. That makes me feel as if I have potential in my life and that I have a reason to be here. The fact that the stardust created elements that were then out together to create me, is mind boggling and amazing. Not only is it amazing because it's really cool that something much greater made the stuff that makes me, but also that it actually happened in the first place. To me it's amazing that there isn't a manual on how to create things, it just happens scientifically. All in all, to think that stardust created us makes me feel significant, but it is just really hard to believe
