Science, Religion, and the Big Bang - YouTube
There are a couple of reasons why this video is significant. Its significant because not only does it give a lot of possibilities to cosmic inflation, but also because it contradicts many people's religious beliefs on how the universe was made. I have grown up not going to church and following others religion to being given the freedom to follow one or make one on my own. I have been trying to become more open to others religions and their opinions on the world, but the more I think about it, it just doesn't make sense to me. I try not to be like others I know who are oblivious to opinions and act as if those who don't share the same opinions are idiots. Those who are open minded seem to retain more information because they don't dismiss any. I think that these gravitational waves aren't just ground breaking news for physics, but also for religion, because now, there is something proving otherwise than the stories from the bible. What I think is even more significant is the fact that certain people will leave religion altogether because it may be true, but some will stay because beliefs are beliefs. I believe and other people do too that this is really what happened while others think otherwise, and they are entitled to their opinions just as much as I am entitled to mine. So there is scientific significance, but there is also significance with religion and the belief system.
